Natural Product
Solid-sawn Douglas fir HIRAKAKU is a completely natural product. There are no health and safety issues associated with its use, re-use or disposal. There are no glues, resins or adhesives, no added chemicals, no off-gassing into surrounding air, no layers to delaminate. At the end of a building’s useful life, Douglas fir HIRAKAKU may be reused as structural timber, resurfaced for appearance applications, safely pulped or chipped for other products, or even burned without environmental risk. |
