About UsSoftwood Export Council is a trade organization working to promote strategic export market development for American-made softwood products.
We represent U.S. softwood grading agencies, industry trade associations, state export promotional agencies, and others with a stake in global trade for softwood lumber and value added building materials. With assistance from the Foreign Agricultural Service, we're able to create a presence overseas for our industry, educating potential buyers and updating our members on ever-changing economic policies world-wide. |
FundingMembership dues cover SEC's operating expenses, but SEC's activities are supported by the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS). We receive funds through the following FAS programs
|
ActivitiesWith a strategic plan and measurable output goals, SEC supports trade by creating and developing international markets for U.S. softwood products and maintaining relationships with foreign industry representatives. We also conduct research on emerging markets and stay up to date on the shifting economic marketplace on behalf of our members.
