Supporting Members of the Softwood Export Council are those businesses, associations, organizations, or individuals who have an interest in the export of softwood products.

Market Activities

SEC Supporting Members have opportunities to gain international trade leads, press exposure, and other marketing benefits.

BUYERS GUIDES

SEC Foreign Market Directors participate in over 40 international trade shows annually. At these shows, and through advertising and PR activities, they are able to distribute the Member Association International Buyers Guides to thousands of consumers and industry players. The various guides contains product and contact information of SEC Member companies for foreign buyers to make company to company contacts.

PRESS TOURS

SEC periodically hosts groups of foreign press members representing some of the most influential industry magazines and newspapers in their country. These groups have provided invaluable exposure to the industry and individual companies by printing stories about softwood companies and products. SEC Supporting Members have the opportunity to host future groups.

MARKET REPORTS

SEC Supporting Membership includes access to several valuable market reports. Reports are sent on request, or in many cases, provided immediately to Associate Members.

  • Monthly/Bi-monthly Market Updates from SEC Foreign Market Directors in : Japan, Korea, Europe, Mexico, Australia, and China
  • Annual Report on Softwood Lumber in Japan
  • Annual U.S. Embassy Global Agriculture Information Network (GAIN) Reports in major U.S. forest product markets
  • Annual U.S. Embassy Forest Product Reports
  • Consultant reports on special topics such as housing markets in Japan and Korea
  • Trip reports from US industry representatives conducting promotional activities
  • U.S. softwood export and import statistics
